Now, customers can integrate Google Assistant into their Control4 Smart Home for voice control of their lights, lighting scenes, whole-home scenes, blinds, locks, thermostats, and ceiling fans. Customers can use the Google Home app to connect their Control4 system to Google Assistant's voice control.

With the rapid expansion of connected IoT devices, consumers want greater visibility and control of what information they share. For the first time, Control4 customers can choose what information they share about their Control4 system.
Smart Home Privacy Guard™ is a data privacy feature of the Control4 system that limits what information a Control4 system shares with voice assistants like Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant.
When Privacy Guard is enabled (default), device states are shared with Google or Amazon only when controlled through a voice command.
Privacy Guard can be disabled for Google Assistant. When disabled, the Control4 system will notify Google any time a device state changes by a voice command, scheduled event, or another user interface. Disabling Privacy Guard enables Google Assistant to always show the current device state.

Here are a few examples of the new commands available with the updated Control4 Smart Home skill:
Each of the items above can be done without any new programming—the homeowner can just add an Amazon Alexa device to their home and link it to their Control4 system.
Of course, there are times when you want to use advanced programming to do something much more complex, but use a voice command to execute that programming. For those instances, use the Control4 Voice Scene driver to do just about anything through custom programming executed with a simple voice command.
