Araknis is bringing the latest and greatest to its series of WAPs. Fast Roaming and new OvrC features offer you more control of the network and a better experience for both you and your clients.

Introducing Fast Roaming

Fast Roaming allows a device to seamlessly transition between access points, ensuring the best possible performance. Based on location and coverage, a wireless device will release from a weak access point connection and attach to a different access point with a stronger connection in just a matter of milliseconds.

Complete Control of the Network

Connect your WAP to OvrC, and the possibilities are endless. This remote management platform gives you the access and information needed to troubleshoot wireless issues with ease.

Please note, client table list is currently in BETA. Refer to release notes for additional information.

Fast Roaming, plus so much more.

Fast Roaming=802.11r/k

This firmware update leverages the IEEE 802.11r/k standard, which enables fast roaming (r) and location-based triangulation (k) to determine the closest and strongest AP. Similar setups from other manufacturers may require expensive controller hardware and complex software configuration, but we’ve provided a Tech Service Bulletin to ensure quick installation and ideal performance.

Auto-Ping & Auto-Reboot

Leave the connectivity check to us. Araknis access points are able to continuously "ping" the router (internet gateway device), ensuring the WAP is connected at all times. Should the access point detect any issues (ex. DHCP not getting assigned), it will automatically reboot based on your settings - you can even set up regular auto-reboot schedules.

Spectrum Analyzer

During setup, you may come across wireless interference from other access points or appliances. This interference causes intermittent connectivity and network lag - both of which are bad for business. The built-in spectrum analyzer helps locate this interference and assists you in determining the best channel for a WAP to operate.

Repeater Mode

Wiring challenges can sometimes limit your ability to hardwire additional access points. Although using repeater mode results in reduced throughput, it may be an effective trade-off for difficult installs. This mode requires power and network connection to at least one WAP, with the remaining WAPs only needing a power input.

Enhanced OvrC for improved management.

Password Control

With OvrC, you can access, setup, configure, and reset wireless SSIDs to avoid those pesky service calls. If your customers forget their credentials, you can reset or change them remotely in a matter of seconds.

WAP Histogram

A detailed chart via OvrC displays connected clients, allows you to gauge wireless signal strength, and even view upload and download history. Now intermittent problems can be solved without a late-night troubleshooting call.

**iOS update available first week of May.
