The Atlona Etude™ Sync provides EDID emulation and HPD (Hot-Plug-Detect) communication between HDMI® sink and source devices. It detects and corrects signal integrity issues associated with faulty cabling or connections, and can resolve compatibility problems between devices.
The Atlona Etude™ Sync provides EDID emulation and HPD (Hot-Plug-Detect) communication between HDMI® sink and source devices. It detects and corrects signal integrity issues associated with faulty cabling or connections, and can resolve compatibility problems between devices. The Etude Sync is compatible with HDR formats and is HDCP 2.2 compliant. It supports UHD 4K @ 60 Hz with 4:4:4 chroma sampling, as well as HDMI data rates up to 18 Gbps. In addition to addressing HDMI signal and device-related issues, the Etude Sync reports HDCP compliance at the source and destination, and can manage EDID communication with the source. This device is ideal for AV system troubleshooting and can ensure a reliable, consistent performance for years to come.
Compatible with new and emerging 4K UHD and HDR-capable sources and displays, the Etude Sync fully supports modern video resolutions, audio formats, and color space formats in the HDMI 2.0a specification.
The Etude Sync provides EDID to the HDMI source device, either from the display or the Etude Sync’s internal memory. It also streamlines device communication by ensuring desired audio formats and video resolutions are provided to the AV system.
When you need to detect and address any device or system issues with signal handshaking, the Etude Sync is your ideal solution. Perfect for troubleshooting performance or reliability issues related to cabling, terminations, source and display compatibility, and other factors, it can be installed into a variety of AV systems to address pesky HDMI signaling or EDID problems.
Hot Plug Detect allows devices to understand when they are connected or disconnected to or from a source or sink device, and initiates a start-up sequence accordingly. This enables the essential signal handshake necessary for the source to deliver quality video content. The Etude Sync restores +5 volt and HPD signals that may have been lost due to overly long cables or cabling faults, as well as signals which are passed through multiple distribution devices.
The Etude Sync also adheres to HDCP 2.2, which is the latest specification for High-bandwidth Digital Content Protection. This allows a protected content stream to pass between devices.
If you need compatibility with legacy generation sources that use HDMI 1.2, such as cable television set-top boxes, the Etude Sync allows them to be used in newer systems. It also addresses the lack of support for the HDMI 1.3 clock stretching protocol required in HDBaseT extenders.
Multiple LED indicators provide power and signal status information for the +5 volt source supply, HPD signals, and HDCP copy protection. They’re a quick and convenient way to identify connection or signal integrity problems, as well as HDCP compliance at the source and destination devices.
Whether you want to use the included power source, or power the Etude Sync from a USB or other local device, the Etude Sync gives you multiple options for added installation convenience. For testing or troubleshooting, this device can even be powered by a laptop or any nearby available USB port.
This sleek 1 inch (25 mm) high emulator fits easily into racks, structured wiring cans, or other confined spaces. It’s perfectly-sized for systems in public spaces, where you want to keep devices out of sight, but not out of mind.
