The Atlona® OmniStream™ 512 is a networked AV encoder with two independent channels of encoding for two HDMI 2.0 sources up to 4K @ 60 Hz and HDR (High Dynamic Range), plus embedded audio and RS-232 or IR control pass-through.
The Atlona® OmniStream™ 512 is a networked AV encoder with two independent channels of encoding for two HDMI 2.0 sources up to 4K @ 60 Hz and HDR (High Dynamic Range), plus embedded audio and RS-232 or IR control pass-through. It is part of the OmniStream R-Type Series, designed for high performance, flexible distribution of AV over standard, and off-the-shelf Gigabit Ethernet switches in residential and light commercial audiovisual applications. The OmniStream 512 is HDCP 2.2 compliant and ideal for the latest Ultra High-Definition and HDR sources. It features advanced high-quality, VC-2 visually lossless video compression that is optimized for motion video content. The Atlona® OmniStream 512 achieves extremely low, sub-frame latency when paired with OmniStream AV decoders. This dual-channel encoder is housed in a half-width rack enclosure with front-to-back air flow, and is ideal for high-density, compact installation in a centralized equipment location.
OmniStream R-Type supports 4K HDR, including HDR10 @ 60 Hz and 10-bit color, as well as HLG (Hybrid Log-Gamma) for future 60p HDR broadcast services. OmniStream delivers the image quality you demand from baseband video, using high performance, visually lossless compression optimized for fast-motion video content.
OmniStream R-Type delivers the best of both worlds – uncompromised picture quality and just half a frame of encode-decode latency, the lowest for any AV over Gigabit Ethernet platform. This equates to a delay of just 8 milliseconds with 60 Hz video.
OmniStream R-Type is ready to go with industry-leading network switches from Cisco and others. All you need to do is connect your devices to the network and upload a configuration file to the switch. Forget about tedious manual setup procedures.
One of the most significant costs of AV integration is new cabling infrastructure. The beauty of OmniStream is that it’s ready for use with the network cabling already in place for a residence or facility, going as far back as CAT 5e.
