Designed to meet the demands of critical listeners, these Episode® 700 Series In-Ceiling Speakers are equally capable as music or home theater speakers. Even at low volume levels, you'll appreciate the clarity and detail that these speakers produce - and when you turn them up, you'll enjoy a wide, natural soundstage and exceptionally dynamic sound.
We've combined the strength of Kevlar™ with the natural damping qualities of paper in a unique woofer material. A multi-step drying process during manufacturing enables these drivers to retain a natural, open cell structure that results in well-damped, neutral acoustic characteristics.
Most dome tweeters are spherical -- so why isn't the tweeter in the ES-700? The oblong (catenary curve) shape of this tweeter produces more off-axis acoustic energy. The translation: a wider, more engaging soundstage with an open, forward sound.
With this speaker, you can quickly adjust the tweeter's output by 3db to compensate for rooms with more or less sound absorbing materials. The same adjustment can be made to the woofer to compensate for installations near walls and corners that might otherwise cause a speaker to sound "boomy".
We don't over-engineer the construction of Episode® speakers just so they survive bouncing around in your van. Our build quality also eliminates one of the most common problems in architectural speaker designs - secondary speaker resonance that "colors" the sound and reduces fidelity.
Lots of tweeters can be aimed, but ours can be aimed with ease. So, whether it's a tweeter bridge that's tough enough to be used as a handle, or push-button speaker terminals that can be connected with one hand, we know you'll appreciate the details that make Episode® speakers among the easiest to work with.
