Built on a combination of our custom install expertise, the innovation of the Binary™ brand, and the ultra-reliable, proven platform of HDBaseT technology, these Binary™ HDMI® Matrix Switchers with HDMI and HDBaseT Outputs are an installer’s dream. Available in 16x16, 8x16, 8x8, and 4x4 models, they use a single Cat5e/6 output and simultaneous HDMI output to transmit HDMI signals and bi-directional IR from sources to displays – up to 230 feet. They support full 1080p video and Dolby TrueHD and DTS-HD Master audio, and feature true plug-and-play technology, so there are no EQ settings required for simple systems. And they come equipped with everything needed for control system integration, including RS-232 control and IR routing to boot! Ethernet available on 8x8, 8x16, and 16x16 models. Contents include (1) B-500-MTRX, (1) 24V DC (4X4 & 8X8)/12V DC (8X16 & 16X16)/2.7A Power supply (4X4)/5A Power Supply (8X8)/11.25A Power supply (8X16 & 16X16), (1) owner's manual, (2) rack ears, (4) mounting screws, (1) CD ROM, and (1) remote.
Each output provides an HDMI® output for local display(s), as well as an HDBaseT output for longer distances. Just pair the HDBaseT output with the optional receiver to achieve distances up to 230 feet. Best of all, both of these outputs can be used in parallel. A great example of this is for use with a preview monitor – connect the projector via the HDBaseT and the preview monitor via HDMI®.
To control the matrix itself, Ethernet, bi-directional RS-232 and IR are all available. But the goodies don't stop there – when using an optional HDBaseT receiver, the same Cat5e/6 cable that sends HDMI® signals to the TV can also carry IR signals back to source components. And with built-in IR routing you don’t have to worry about conflicting codes between devices. The matrix has IR inputs for each room too. For guaranteed performance, use Episode® IR Products.
Intelligent circuit design perfected with feedback from extensive hardware qualification testing has resulted in a very robust product with excellent ESD and Surge protection. During development they were hit with ESD at 15KV and surges up to 2500V.
Supplied rack ears make it easy to get this switcher securely mounted. Plus there are two power supply connectors – one on each side of the chassis – so you can run power wherever it’s most convenient within your rack layout.
This switcher has you covered with full support of the HDMI® (with 3D), Deep Color (36bit), and HDCP 1.4 as well as support for Dolby® True HD, Dolby® Digital Plus, DTS™-HD Master, and LPCM audio formats.
Thanks to HDBaseT functionality, you don’t have to fiddle with any EQ settings between the switcher and its receiver. Just plug and play – it doesn’t get easier than that! For more sophisticated systems, EDID settings can be configured using the included remote control or convenient PC configuration utility. Three EDID modes are provided for ultimate flexibility: Auto, Embedded, and Learning.
Fast switching - less than 3 seconds - ensures that you don't miss any of the action while waiting around for the video to sync. Plus, once a display is locked onto a source, there is no "blinking" of that display while other displays change sources.
